Community Meeting — A Call to Action

We write to you carrying both the weight of disappointment and the fire of determination. Eight months ago, we came together and presented a clear request to the board: a call for BIPOC-majority leadership on the Dhamma Dena board and accountability to the sangha. Since then, there has been no movement, absolutely none. The board remains white-majority led, and our voices, our needs, and our vision for Dhamma Dena have been met with silence and inaction.

This is no longer a request. This is a call to action.

We invite you to join us for a pivotal meeting on Sunday, March 8th, 10am-noon PDT. This is a moment to come together, to share vital information, and to chart a path forward. Your voice is essential. Your presence is power. Your commitment is the heartbeat of this community.

We are united to protect and center BIPOC and Queer leadership at Dhamma Dena, and to build a board that finds joy in the interdependence of sacred community. This is about ensuring that our center reflects the values we hold dear: equity, care, and belonging for all.

Please save the date, spread the word, and come ready to stand with us. Together, we can create the change needed for our sangha to flourish.

We need you. Let’s show up for one another and for the future of Dhamma Dena.
